All the highlights from the recent Championship action during round nine.

Sheffield Eagles 34-20 Newcastle Thunder

The first game of this weekend’s Championship games came on Friday night. Jamaica international Ben Jones-Bishop scored a hat-trick to help Sheffield beat full-time Newcastle 34-20 on home soil. Vila Halafihi, Joel Farrell and Anthony Thackeray also scored for Mark Aston’s side.

Dewsbury Rams 19-18 Workington Town

A last-minute drop goal from Michael Knowles sealed a 19-18 victory for Dewsbury against Workington at the Tetley’s Stadium.

Halifax Panthers 40-18 Barrow Raiders

Halifax eased past Barrow 40-18 at The Shay. Louis Jouffret, Adam Tangata, Joe Arundel, Lachlan Walmsley (2), Kyle Wood and Zack McComb (2) went over for the Panthers.

Leigh Centurions 64-0 London Broncos

Championship high flyers Leigh ran in 11 tries to come up with a thrilling 64-0 win over London at the Leigh Sports Village.

Widnes Vikings 10-38 Batley Bulldogs

Batley produced a clinical display to win comfortably 38-10 at Widnes. Lucas Walshaw, Mike Ward, Luke Hooley, Josh Hodson, Johnny Campbell (2) and Alistair Leak got on the scoresheet for the Bulldogs.

York City Knights 30-12 Whitehaven

York continued their rich vein of form with a 30-12 victory over Whitehaven at the LNER Community Stadium.

Brendan O’Hagan, Levi Edwards, Liam Harris (2) and James Glover scored for the Knights. Former Hull half-back Harris also kicked five goals.

Bradford Bulls v Featherstone Rovers

John Kear’s Bradford host Featherstone in another edition of Monday night Rugby League live on Premier Sports on Monday night.
