All the highlights from the recent Championship action during round eight. 

Bradford 17-20 Halifax

Halifax Panthers claimed a 20-17 victory over Bradford at Odsal Stadium, despite playing 79 minutes with 12 men. 

Jacob Fairbank was sent off in the opening minute. However, a try in the dying minutes from Louis Jouffret saw the Panthers claim the two league points on offer. Halifax now sit seventh in the league table. Bradford are two places below in ninth.

Featherstone 58-6 Barrow

Mark Kheirallah scored on his Featherstone debut, named at full-back. Ryley Jacks scored a hat-trick, while Ben Hellewell also crossed for a brace. Luke Briscoe, Connor Jones, Matty Widlie and James Lockwood also scoring.

Brian McDermott recently strengthened his squad with the signing of Johnathon Ford. 

Widnes 6-36 Leigh

Six tries saw Leigh claim a 36-6 victory over Widnes in the Championship. Tries from Ata Hingano, Ed Chamberlain, Nene MacDonald, John Asiata, Krisnan Inu and Joe Mellor.  

Batley 36-20 Dewsbury

Batley Bulldogs secured their fourth win of the season with a 36-20 score over Dewsbury Rams. 

York 38-6 Newcastle

Will Jubb celebrated his 100th York City Knights appearance with a 38-6 win over Newcastle Thunder at home.

AJ Towse scored his first try for the club, before crossing for his second. Jordan Thompson, Ronan Dixon, James Glover, Masi Matongo and Joe Brown also scoring. Brad Gallagher scoring Newcastle’s only try of the afternoon.

Sheffield 30-10 London

London Broncos continue to search for their first win of the season following a 30-10 defeat to Sheffield. Anthony Thackeray scored a second-half hat-trick. Quentin Laulu-Togaga’e crossed for two.

Whitehaven 22-14 Workington

Whitehaven claimed the bragging rights in Cumbria as they beat rivals Workington 22-14 in a Championship clash live on Premier Sports.
