The Black and Whites are currently on a three game losing streak after tight defeats to Castleford and Wigan were followed by a 46-6 defeat to Widnes last weekend.
These defeats followed early season optimism from Lee Radford‘s side after impressive displays in their opening games, and Washbrook wants the club to end their blip as quickly as possible.
“Everything that needed to be said was in our review on Friday. We are talking about the Widnes game as if it was a blip. We’ve put it to bed,” Washbrook told the Hull Daily Mail.
“Getting away from it for a few days was good for us. We came back in on Monday and drew a line through the defeat.
“We are five games into the season and that’s probably the first time we played awful. We were in touching distance of getting a win in losses at home to Castleford and Wigan, but last week was the first week we had to have a look at ourselves and say it wasn’t good enough.”
“We have had three defeats on the bounce now and you would probably say that every team in the league will go through a similar period this season.
“We’re just looking to kick on now. Wakefield will be probably looking at the video from Widnes rubbing their hands. There are certain areas, particularly defence which we need to vastly improve.”
