Warrington’s Whizzy Rascal returned for her second stint in the club’s clash with Catalans on Friday night at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

The club also saw a wizard and a dragon entertain fans before the fixture inside the ground.

Whizzy Rascal threatened to steal the show once more on her second Super League appearance of the season.

Whizzy took social media by storm when she drove on to deliver the match ball for the Warrington’s opening game of the season.

This time the ball was delivered by a 10ft dragon, brought in by the innovative Super League club to help entertain over 1,000 kids who got in for a quid for the game at home to Catalans as part of the club’s ticketing initiative.

Whizzy made her appearance at half-time. She delivered the contract for a new five-year stadium rights sponsorship deal with Halliwell Jones managing director Phillip Jones.

New deal for Halliwell Jones

The new deal will take the partnership to 23 years with the BMW and MINI car dealership company. They have held the stadium naming rights since Warrington’s move to their home ground from Wilderspool in 2004.

Warrington Wolves CEO Karl Fitzpatrick said: “We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve extended our long-standing partnership with Halliwell Jones.

“They’ve been on the journey with us from day one at our home venue since the move from Wilderspool. I’d like to thank Phillip and the team for their continued support.

“Numerous exciting activations are planned for our supporters as part of the renewal which we’ve begun to see already with fan competitions on social media and of course the exposure both parties gained from Whizzy Rascal’s antics.

“Over the last 18 years there have been many special moments and incredible nights at the Halliwell Jones Stadium. We’re looking forward to continuing to work closely together over the coming years.”
