Warrington backs Kevin Penny, Rhys Evans and Ryan Atkins all picked up injuries in Sunday’s eight-point defeat at the hands of Wakefield.

Atkins was concussed and centre partner Evans was forced off in the second half with a shoulder problem.

Penny has a hamstring injury and the Wire lost halfback Stefan Ratchford to illness before kick-off.

Eighteen-year old Morgan Smith made his Super League debut off the bench in the halves in the place of Ratchford.

“We lost Ryan Atkins, he’s got concussion, and Rhys, the two centres,” Warrington coach Tony Smith confirmed after the game.

“Rhys has a shoulder niggle and we lost him early in the second half.

“Penny has done his  hamstring, how severe I can’t tell you, but it’s significant.”
