Rochdale Hornets have signed Warrington Wolves Under-19s ace Harry Reardon for the 2018 season.

The half-back enjoyed a fine year for Warrington’s Under-19s side and has been eyed up by a number of Championship and League 1 clubs.

But the Hornets have secured the 20-year-old’s signature, who is looking forward to hopefully getting some regular game time under his belt with the Championship outfit.

“It’s another step up for me, from being at the Under-19s last season,” said Reardon.

“There’s some uncertainty around Warrington’s reserve side next year, so I thought it was going to be a bit of a dead end for me.

“Rochdale came in and I am grateful for the opportunity.”

And Hornets head coach Alan Kilshaw is made up to welcome the highly-rated youngster, who is also a goal-kicker, to the Crown Oil Arena.

“Harry is a talented half-back who will add competition and depth to our halves,” Kilshaw said.

“He is also equally comfortable at nine, and a very capable goal-kicker.

“He was voted Player’s Player (of the Year) last season and I’m really expecting him to kick on and challenge for a regular spot in the side.

“He is another young player who we’re happy to give an opportunity to and I am really looking forward to working with him.”
