Warrington have re-signed veteran centre Ben Pomeroy with immediate effect for the rest of the season.

The 34-year-old has most recently been plying his trade in France with Lezignan Sangliers.

Pomeroy made his Warrington debut in July last season, scoring four tries in four games for the club.

And the former Penrith Panthers and Cronulla Sharks star is made up to be back at the Wolves.

He said: “I’m very excited about returning to Warrington.

“I always wanted to come back at some point so it’s great that the opportunity has come about so soon. “I enjoyed my time with the club last year and it’s great to see the team going well on the field this season. I can’t wait to get started.”

Warrington coach Steve Price thinks Pomeroy’s experience will help the team a lot going forward.

He said: “Ben’s a pro with a really good understanding of the game having been around for quite a while now.

“He’s a team-first player and can play in a number of positions; in the back row as well as at centre. He played a few games here at Warrington last year and he’s someone who everyone loves playing with. I had no hesitation in getting him back over here.”

Pomeroy will wear the number 29 shirt for the Wolves.
