Warrington have signed outside-back Greg Minikin from Hull KR on a two-year deal from 2022.

The 26-year-old winger or centre, who has played for the England Knights, has scored 77 tries in 164 career appearances for York, Castleford, Batley and Hull KR.

Minikin becomes Warrington’s latest signing for next season along with Peter Mata’utia, Oliver Holmes and James Harrison.

Minikin said: “I’m massively excited to be making the move next season. Warrington’s a big club and when they showed interest I jumped at the opportunity.

“I worked under Powelly (Daryl Powell) for four years at Cas and he gave me the opportunity to play Super League and developed my game a lot so I’m excited to work under him again.

“It’s always been fun to play away at The Halliwell Jones Stadium. It’s a fantastic ground with great facilities and it’ll be nice to be on the good side of the Warrington fans next year.

“I’m really excited to get over there and rip in.”

Warrington chief executive Karl Fitzpatrick added: “We’re excited to be welcoming Greg to the club for next season.

“He’ll add a lot of value and experience around the squad. He’s a versatile player who can play a number of key positions and will strengthen Daryl’s options for next season.

“He certainly knows his way to the try-line and we’re looking forward to seeing him represent the Wire next year onwards.”

Hull KR had offered Minikin a one-year extension but chose to take up the two-year deal with Warrington, and Rovers say he leaves with their best wishes.

Hull KR coach Tony Smith said: “I’d like to wish Greg well for the next part of his career and thank him for his contributions whilst at Hull KR.

“It hasn’t been an easy time for him by any means. He’s had a stop-start time with us due to some injuries, but he’s been a pleasure to work with and I certainly wish him well for the future.”
