Warrington captain Chris Hill handed three-match ban

Warrington prop Chris Hill has been given a three-match suspension for his dismissal in their 16-10 loss at Wigan.

The England international was sent off 22 minutes in to last Thursday’s opener for a high shot on Wigan hooker Sam Powell.

The Rugby Football League’s match review panel deemed it a reckless Grade C offence.

Hill will miss Warrington’s next three games against St Helens, Wakefield and Toronto.

Wigan back-rower Morgan Smithies has been told he will not face any action over a gouging allegation in last week’s match.

Elsewhere, Castleford centre Peter Mata’utia has been handed a two-match ban for a Grade B dangerous tackle on Toronto’s Jon Wilkin during the Tigers’ 28-10 victory over the Wolfpack.

The panel handed cautions to Leeds trio Konrad Hurrell, Matt Prior and Richie Myler as well as Hull duo Ratu Naulago and Ligi Sao for foul play during Sunday’s game at Emerald Headingley.
