Warrington joined Wigan and Hull at the top of the Super League table with a 46-12 win over Crusaders.

They suffered an early scare, twice falling behind through tries from Mark Bryant and Lincoln Withers, with a Matt King score sandwiched in between.

But a further King score, plus tries from Chris Bridge and Simon Grix gave the Wolves a 24-12 half time advantage.

Warrington cut loose in the second half as they maintained their impressive start to the season, scoring tries through Ben Westwood (2), Michael Monaghan, Chris Hicks and David Solomona.

Wolves boss Tony Smith said: “Matt King was terrific both offensively and defensively. He bombed three or four chances and was still sensational. That shows how good he is.

“He’s in rampaging form but has been playing strong all year.”
