Warrington 32-6 Leeds: Wolves too strong for young Rhinos

Drew Darbyshire

Warrington proved too strong for a youthful Leeds team as they ran-out 32-6 winners at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

The Wolves got off to the perfect start as Toby King went over just five minutes into the game.

But the young Rhinos were impressive in the first half and Sam Walters bulldozed his way over to level the score.

Warrington forward Sitaleki Akauola was sin-binned on the half hour mark for a dangerous tackle, while a Stefan Ratchford penalty goal saw Steve Price’s side lead 8-6 at the break.

Warrington winger Matty Ashton extended his side’s lead in the 51st minute before Ben Currie went over on the hour.

Ratchford added another penalty goal for Warrington in the 70th minute before Daryl Clark and Ashton scored late on to seal the 32-6 victory for the Wolves.
