Wane: Tomkins is 50-50

test

Wigan coach Shaun Wane says that Sam Tomkins has a 50% chance of being fit for next Monday’s Challenge Cup quarter-final.

Tomkins, 24, has missed the Warriors last two Super League fixtures due to a knee problem, and alongside captain Sean O’Loughlin he is a major doubt for the match against Widnes.

There is some good news for Wigan fans as Wane told the club’s official website that Lee Mossop should return.

Wane said, “There is a good chance on Lee Mossop being fit for next week, there is less of a chance on Sam Tomkins and even less than a chance for him for Sean O’Loughlin. I would say its 90%, 50% and 30% chance on those players being fit and ready for the Widnes game.”

One player who is categorically ruled out of the game with the Vikings is forward Ephalame Lauaki who will be out of action for three weeks with a hamstring injury.
