Wane ready for must win game

Wigan coach Shaun Wane says there is no better game for his side to bounce back in following their Challenge Cup final defeat to Hull.

The Warriors travel to derby rivals St Helens for a crunch Super 8s match which is likely to prove pivotal in the race for the top four.

Wane told the club’s official website: “It’s perfect!

“St Helens away is a great fixture for us and we’re looking forward to it. The lads have spoken really well about getting over the loss and making sure we’re at our best this week.

“They’ve had a few wins and seem to have turned a corner and really built on what Keiron (Cunningham) was doing. They’ve lost the last couple but they really weren’t far off in either of those games, they’ve had a week off so we’re expecting them to be really strong and aggressive this week.

“They’re a strong team without Ben Barba so with him added in it’s going to make it a big challenge.

“We have to deal with it. It’s a must win game for both teams so it’s going to be a great game for everybody to watch.”
