Wigan coach Shaun Wane has put contract talks on hold as he bids to leads the Warriors to a first Super League title since 2010.

Wane, 48, joined Wigan on a two-year deal in 2011 with the option of a third season and, despite leading the Warriors to the top of the table, is yet to open discussions on extending his stay with the club.

He said: “We’re no further on (with my contract talks). I’ll sit down with Ian and Rads (Kris Radlinski, Wigan director of rugby) as soon as we can and as soon as all the injuries have gone.

“It’s not really that important right now.

“I just need to make sure we don’t lose anyone else – Chris Tuson is the last one.”

Wigan are without nine first team players for the trip to lowly Widnes this weekend.
