Wane happy with Wigan position

Wigan Warriors Head Coach Stuart Wane has expressed his happiness with his teams current league position.

Wigan top the table, three point ahead of second placed Warrington and with a 12 game unbeaten streak in the League and Cup as they look to return to Wembley for the first time since 2010 when they won the double.

He said: “I am more than happy, but we could have won the games that we lost which would have been nice. The performances have been spot on and the atmosphere around the place is the best I have ever known.

“I am so proud of what they have done, in the last 6 weeks we have had some intense sessions and the skill and error rate has been unbelievable.

“They have concentrated for that 6 weeks and faced some very tough games and it was a relief to end with another win at Catalans. We have had some great performances at Hull and at Leeds.”

With Wigan’s next game at home to basement boys Widnes, who beat them back 37-36 in March, Wane knows that they cannot underestimate their opponents and must maintain their good form if they are to repeat their double winning season two years ago.
