Wane disappointed with Wigan

Wigan coach Shaun Wane slammed his side’s performance after they opened the Super 8s with defeat to Leeds.

The loss sees the Warriors drop to eight place in the table, four points off the play-off places.

Wane told the club’s official website: “We were poor and disappointing.

“We lacked energy, when we kicked to them their first two or three plays killed us but when we kicked to them our first two or three plays didn’t and that made a big difference on field position.

“My team has been good this year, we’ve had some real adversity and come through the other end but that was disappointing and a step back.”

Wigan welcome Huddersfield to the DW Stadium next weekend.

The Giants leapfrogged the Warriors in the table with a 36-6 win over Wakefield on Friday night.
