Shaun Wane has confirmed that Wigan skipper Sean O’Loughlin has today undergone knee surgery.

This will keep him out of the World Club Series game against Brisbane Broncos on Friday evening, and will also see him sidelined for a further six weeks or so.

Wane confirmed the news to a group of local reporters who were present at an opposed training session against South Sydney at Wigan’s Orrell training base.

Dan Sarginson, George Williams and Taulima Tautai are expected to return to action for the Warriors on Friday, however.
