Wane admits Wigan were poor

Wigan coach Shaun Wane has acknowleged that his team did not play well in losing to St Helens on Friday night at Langtree Park.

The Warriors lost 30-14, and Wane felt that his team did not offer Saints enough of a challenge.

“It was a poor team performance and it’s a tough one to deal with. We just didn’t play in the right areas of the field,” he told reporters after the game.

“It was an awful performance, we just never got into an arm wrestle and came up with silly errors and penalties. I’m really disappointed that we didn’t challenge them in any area today.

“We didn’t throw anything at them apart from the first six minutes.

“Without a doubt the best team won and it hurts really badly. We’ve got to take it on the chin.”
