Batley forward Jason Walton will miss his side’s games against Gateshead and Halifax after being banned for two matches.

Walton was put on report during the defeat by Leigh on February 4th and the RFL Disciplinary Committee found him guilty of a Grace D dangerous throw.

The former Salford main pleaded guilty at the hearing and was also fined £50.

Meanwhile, team-mate Paul Mennell escaped suspension despite his red card in the same game.

Although he was found guilty of a Grade B reckless tackle, the panel ruled that the sending off was sufficient punishment for the offence.
