New St Helens signing Luke Walsh is confident he can make a positive impact on the club when he officially arrives next season.

Walsh, 26, signed a two-year deal with Nathan Brown’s side this week and will wear the number seven jersey at Langtree park in 2014.

He said: “I am looking forward to it.

“I know it is a strong club with a young team and after speaking to Nathan Brown it went from there. I felt excited about it.

“It was always in the back of my head to come over there and experience playing in Super League. Now I have a good opportunity.

“It will be tough at the start as my wife and young boy will need to settle in, but I’m sure it will be a good challenge.”

Walsh joins St Helens from NRL side Penrith.
