Walker suspended for positive cocaine drugs test

Wakefield prop Adam Walker has tested positive for cocaine, following a test taken after the same game as Rangi Chase’s positive test.

Chase was suspended earlier this week by Widnes after they revealed he had tested positive for cocaine following a test after Wakefield’s win at the Halton Stadium last month.

And now Wakefield have revealed that their former Hull KR forward has done the same.

Their statement said: “Wakefield Trinity received notification from UK Anti-Doping and the Rugby Football League today that Adam Walker tested positively for cocaine in a drugs test, following the recent fixture against Widnes Vikings.

“As a consequence, under Rugby Football League anti-doping regulations, he has been suspended from all training and playing activity.

“The Club fully respects this suspension and are currently reviewing this matter. There will be no further comment at this time.”

Both Widnes and Wakefield lost on Friday night, against Warrington and Huddersfield respectively.
