Walker out for eight weeks

Hull KR prop Jonny Walker is set for two months on the sidelines with a knee injury.

Walker, 23, limped off in the first half of last Friday’s defeat to Castleford and has damaged the medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his knee.

Coach Craig Sandercock said: “Jonny has damaged the MCL in his knee which is disappointing.

“It’s not the knee that he’s had trouble with in the past, it’s his other one, and it looks as though he’ll be having eight weeks on the sidelines.”

Walker only joined the Robins from Castleford in the close season.

Sandercock has been boosted, though, by the news that Jamie Langley, Justin Poore and Mick Weyman all return to the squad for the trip to St Helens on Friday.
