London Broncos have confirmed Scottish international Alex Walker has re-signed with the club for a further two seasons.

The 21-year-old full-back has been with the Broncos for seven years, having progressed through their scholarship and academy systems.

Broncos’ boss Andrew Henderson said: “It’s a positive statement for the London Broncos that we’ve got a player like Alex, who has been developed by ourselves and is now starting to establish himself as a regular first team player.

“It’s very pleasing and we’re looking forward to Alex continuing his development in the next couple of years.

“Hopefully he’ll continue to get better and better and become our established number one in the future.

“One thing I wanted to try and build here was to make it a club that people were proud to play for. We’ve created an environment now that is hard working and honest, but it’s also an enjoyable place to be.

“We’ve got really good people here within the squad and the staff, and it’s a really good place to play your rugby league. That’s a reflection of the players wanting to commit their futures to the club.

“I’m really pleased that we’ve managed to re-sign Alex and hopefully we’ll continue to re-sign a few more. We’re creating a good team and a good environment here.”

Walker added: “It was an easy decision for me, I always wanted to stay here.

“It’s been a really good year for me personally and for the team, so I’d like to continue with that and see if we can get into Super League.

“‘Hendo’ has put a lot of trust in me this year, so I’m really happy to have the chance to return that over the next two years.

“Mark Ioane and Rhys Williams have re-signed just before me, and they’re two massive signings.

“They’ve been brilliant for us for the last few years and keeping players of their calibre, and keeping the team together, can only help drive us towards promotion. This group of boys is doing so well together.”
