Walker and Barlow banned

Dewsbury prop James Walker has been handed a five match ban for two offences in his side’s Challenge Cup defeat by Swinton.

Walker, 34, received a two-match ban for the Grade B offence of leading with the elbow/forearm whilst in possession of the ball in the 32nd minute and a further three-match ban for a Grade C offence of fighting in the 75th minute.

He was also fined £50 by the RFL disciplinary committee.

Halifax second-rower Sam Barlow has been handed a two-match ban, after being found guilty of committing a Grade B high tackle on Bradford prop Andy Lynch in their Challenge Cup meeting last weekend.

Barlow, who pleaded guilty to the offence, was also fined £50.
