Wales wheelchair team retain Celtic Cup

Wales wheelchair rugby league team retained the Celtic Cup with two emphatic victories over Ireland and Scotland.

Stephen Jones’ side ran in nine tries against Ireland on their way to a 56-6 success and they followed up with an emphatic 72-0 victory over Scotland.

Jones said: “I’m proud of each and every one of the players and couldn’t be happier with the way the squad played.

“They did themselves and the nation proud during the tournament and I’m now looking forward to the upcoming World Cup to be held in Toulouse from 20th July.”

Wales will host the 2018 Celtic Cup which is likely to take place in Deeside.
