Wakefield “would love” to keep hold of Morgan Escare

Wakefield coach Chris Chester has admitted that he would like to sign loanee Morgan Escare from Wigan on a permanent deal.

The 27-year-old joined Trinity earlier this month from the Warriors on loan for the rest of the campaign.

Escare has impressed in the two games he has played for Wakefield so far, and Chester would like to keep him beyond 2019.

Chester told the Yorkshire Evening Post: “I would love to keep hold of Morgan, he has been a great asset to us.

“He is a Wigan player so it is not in our hands but, if there ever was an opportunity [to sign him permanently], we would certainly have to think about it.”
