Wakefield prop pens new deal
Australian prop Scott Anderson has signed a new deal with Wakefield until the end of 2016.
Anderson, 28, arrived on a one-year deal at the start of the 2014 campaign, having played more than 70 games in the NRL for Melbourne and Brisbane.
He said: “It’s been pretty short negotiations because I’m really enjoying myself here at Wakefield so I’m excited.
“It was a little bit of a slow start because I didn’t have a pre-season under my belt but getting a few games and getting the game time I think I’m starting to show some good football.”
Anderson has featured in 11 of Wakefield’s 13 Super League games so far.
Coach Richard Agar said: “Scott’s had a promising start for us and been pretty consistent throughout.
“He’s shown his experience, carried the ball really well for us and fitted into our organisation well.
“He’s a tough kid and we think he’ll get better. It’s a different style to what he probably played in at his previous clubs but we think he’s coming good and we’ve been happy with his performances.”
