Wakefield have made £100,000 worth of shares available for sale to help raise funds to strengthen John Kear’s playing squad.
The decision was made at a meeting of Wakefield shareholders on Tuesday night, which also saw the plans for a new 12,000 community stadium in Stanley officially revealed to those in attendance.
The club are hoping the funds can help push the Wildcats towards a top eight finish this year and beyond. Director of Football Kear was happy with the outcome of the meeting.
“I think it’s excellent news,” said the experienced coach.
“We’re obviously making progress on the field that is there for everybody to see, and obviously we’re very pleased with that.”
“With the stadium plans- which everybody welcomes on the playing side- we need a team that befits what is going to be magnificent surroundings around us.”
“I’ve been tasked with continuing the improvement and the building of this team and any funds that are raised through these shares have been promised to me for team strengthening by the board of directors, and I’m delighted about that,” added Kear
Shares are available to purchase for £1 each, with a minimum share purchase of 100 shares. Simply contact the club on 01924 211611 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
