Wakefield have confirmed that Joe Arundel has been ruled out for three months after suffering a ligament rupture.

The 26-year-old had ankle surgery on Friday after being forced off the field in Wakefield’s Challenge Cup defeat to Huddersfield Giants on May 11.

And scans have revealed that he suffered a ligament rupture.

The surgery, which was to reconstruct the ligament was successful, was successful. Arundel will be immobilised in a boot for 10 days and then will start rehabilitation and physio work.

Arundel, who can play at centre or in the back-row, has made over 50 appearances for Trinity since joining from Hull FC in 2016.
