Sydney Roosters prop Jared Waerea-Hargreaves has signed a new deal to keep him at the club until the end of 2015.

Waerea-Hargreaves, 23, moved to the Roosters from Manly ahead of the 2010 season, appearing in the NRL Grand Final in his first season.

He said: “I love this club – I’m so proud to represent the Roosters and I’m really happy to be contracted here long term

“We have a great young team here at the Roosters that has been playing together for a while now and I’m stoked to be able to continue to grow with this group of guys.”

The Maori forward has played 10 times for New Zealand, making his debut against Tonga in 2009.

Roosters Head Coach Brian Smith said: “Jared has been a stand-out player for us so far this year and to ensure that we have him here for a number of years is great for the Roosters.

“He has stepped up a gear this season and we are looking forward to watching him develop and become a leader in our team over the coming seasons.”
