VIDEO: Footy film tackles gambling

A new film based on the story of an NRL star fallen on hard times will launch in cinemas soon.

Broke is the tale of a former professional player who has turned to gambling after retiring and focuses on his struggles after his playing career, and utlitmately his redemption.

It was produced by Luke Graham, the son of former North Sydney Bears first-grader Mark Graham.

Broke premieres in Australian cinemas on April 3 and is also being shown at film festivals around the world, including in Manchester next month.
