Trialist Joe Vickery will play for Leeds in their Boxing Day friendly against Wakefield, alongside new signings Joel Moon and Mitch Achurch (pictured).

Vickery, 23, is on a three-month trial at Headingley having joined from Gold Coast Titans, and will get his chance to impress coach Brian McDermott.

He will play on the wing, outside the recent capture from Salford Moon, while Achurch, who joined the club from Manly, will feature from the bench.

Paul McShane will play his first game in Leeds colours since May, following his loan spell at Widnes, lining up alongside Danny McGuire in the halves.

McDermott said: “We are pleased that we are able to field such a strong team on Boxing Day and I am sure Wakefield will be doing likewise.

“As always the new players will be keen to make a good first impression and that is particularly true for Joe Vickery who has joined us on a three month trial from the Gold Coast Titans. He has impressed everyone so far with his ability and importantly his attitude and I am sure the Leeds fans will enjoy watching him play.”

It will be the first game on the new pitch at Headingley, which has been relaid during the off-season.
