The pre-season friendly between Valencia Huracanes and Featherstone will be played at El Campo del Pantano in Villajoyosa.

The 3,000-capacity stadium is located just outside the town of Villajoyosa and situated around 30 minutes outside of Benidorm.

The stadium has received RFL approval and has previously hosted Super League clubs as part of their warm weather training camps.

Huracanes chief executive, Dean Buchan, said: “We are thrilled to be able to annouce details of the upcoming match as we know many fans have been desperate to know where the game will be played.

“We look forward to welcoming everybody to our club launch, especially those from Featherstone Rovers who have already got around 200 fans booked on to the trip.”

Rovers chief executive, David Longo, added: “Featherstone Rovers are delighted to be part of this historic occasion.

“We are very much looking forward to the occasion and our entire first-team squad will be travelling to Spain to not only play against Valencia Huracanes but to help them promote and grow rugby league in local schools and communities.

“We thank Dean Buchan and the RFL for making this occasion happen and we hope all fans enjoy the game and experience some winter sunshine.”

The pre-season match will take place on Saturday, January 11, 2020.
