London Skolars winger Ryan Burroughs has joined Barrow Raiders on loan until the end of the season.

The 26-year-old started his professional rugby league career at Canadian side Toronto Wolfpack in 2017. He scored eight tries in 11 games for Toronto before joining Skolars earlier this season.

Burroughs made his debut for Barrow on the weekend in their Championship defeat to Halifax.

Skolars general manager, Simon Fox, said: “As our history has shown, we are delighted to help players accelerate their development within the game, whether that is here or at other clubs.

“The likes of Dan Sarginson, Tony Clubb, Louie McCarthy Scarsbrook and Mike McMeeken have all been through the London development system and now excel at the highest level. Ryan has had an outstanding start to his career in the UK and it is natural that there was interest in him.

“When Barrow approached us with a view to supporting Ryan’s career further we were happy to consider their request and Ryan’s own desire to move forward.

“We would like to thank Ryan for his excellent contribution, both on and off the field and wish him well for the remainder of the season on loan at Barrow. We look forward to watching him progress.”
