North Queensland Cowboys have handed one-year contract extensions to highly-rated youngsters Mitch Dunn and Reuben Cotter.

Back-rower Dunn, 22, has played 11 NRL games since making his debut for the Cowboys in Round 13 last season.

Hooker Cotter, 20, has suffered three ACL injuries in as many years but made his NRL bow in Round 13 against Manly Sea Eagles and has since played five games.

Cowboys director of football, Peter Parr,  said: “We’re delighted to re-sign two young players from our region who have come through our pathways program and have shown promise in their opportunities in the NRL.

“We believe both players have big futures and we see no reason why these contracts aren’t the first of many at our club.”
