Players from Wakefield and Catalans Dragons are the latest to test positive for Covid-19 but the results will not affect this weekend’s round 12 Super League fixtures.

The Rugby Football League says, of the 566 results from this week’s tests across the 11 Super League clubs, match officials and other relevant staff, all but two were negative.

One unnamed Catalans player who tested positive will now remain in self-isolation while the other positive test was from a Wakefield player who has been self-isolating since September 1, meaning none of his team-mates are affected.

The Dragons play Wigan on Saturday evening in Perpignan in front of a crowd for the first time since the resumption of the season.

Wakefield play Hull FC in the first of Thursday’s two fixtures at the Totally Wicked Stadium in St Helens.
