Widnes Vikings secured an automatic return to the Betfred Super League for 2018 following a 12-10 victory over Catalans Dragons in Perpignan.

And it was the first time Widnes have won in the South of France while Denis Betts has been in charge.

With Warrington Wolves, Hull Kingston Rovers and Widnes securing their place in the top flight for next season, it means that Leigh Centurions and Catalans will battle it out in the Million Pound Game this weekend at the Leigh Sports Village for the final place in Super League for next season.

  1. Was at the game and I couldn’t watch near the end what a nail biter regarding Catalan this year they have been poor too many players leaving at end of season so do they really care ? I hope so as I enjoy watching them mostly and think it’s good for our game for them to be in super league if they do go down what would be the chance super league going to 14 teams? Come on Catalan
