Tweets of the Week (June 14 2013)

test

This cryptic tweet from Leeds’ Brett Delaney appears to be a dig at Wigan and England full-back Sam Tomkins, who this week said that overseas players are taking money off and blocking the careers of young English players in Super League.

@brettdelaney15 Haha nice article bout overseas players.. Hmm wouldn’t be saying that when u wanna go do the same in Oz (sic)

It’s perhaps a shame that Delaney is ruled out of the Exiles clash with England due to injury, or there may well have been some fireworks.

The week on Twitter started last Saturday, with an injury update from New South Wales flyer Jarryd Hayne.

@jarrydhayne_1: Results from scan = Grade1 hamstring tear. Around the clock recovery to be ready for origin2. I’m Confident it’ll be sweet

On the same day, fellow NRL star Sonny Bill Williams was getting behind rugby union’s Quade Cooper, as his Queensland Reds side took on the British and Irish Lions.

@SonnyBWilliams Brisbane bound to support the brother @QuadeCooper play the British lions tonight..

On Monday Leeds winger Ryan Hall provided a bizarre insight into what goes on at England training.

@Ryan5Hall: Just been frozen and now I’m getting frisked by some bloke. All in a days training

Leigh director Andy Mazey took to Twitter to reveal that Wigan have made a bid for young Centurion Sam Hopkins.

@andy_mazey: @_MarkJTaylor Leigh Centurions BOD will meet to discuss two bids later in the week one of which I can confirm is Wigan #speculation

And on Wednesday night Widnes forward Ben Cross was puzzled to why his teammate Rhys Hanbury had not made the final Exiles squad.

‏@ben_cross8: Right someone explain to me how @rhyshanbury misses out on Exiles selection, obviously haven’t been watching him play lately.

Finally we have a brilliant Tweet from yesterday as Brett Ferres‘ dream week somehow got even better when the newly called-up England man shared a lift with Rihanna.

@BrettFerres11 Well that doesn’t happen everyday walking into a lift n @rihanna is stood there
