Hull KR have signed Newcastle Knights prop Evarn Tuimavave on a two-year deal.

Tuimavave, 27, is the third new signing by Rovers coach Craig Sandercock for next season, following the recent captures of Cory Paterson and Sean Gleeson.

Paterson, as well as current Rovers star Con Mika, is a former team-mate of Tuimavave, who was part of the New Zealand squad that won the 2008 World Cup.

Tuimavave said: “I’ve been in the NRL for 10 years, have represented my country and was fortunate enough to be a World Cup winner in 2008 as well. I’ve always wanted to play over in the Super League and this is a great opportunity for me to fulfil that ambition. When I started out with the New Zealand Warriors I always wanted to play in Australia and having done that for a number of years I believe I’m ready for a new challenge.

“I worked with Sandy (Craig Sandercock) at the Knights last year, we have a good relationship and I think he can get the best out of me, as he did last season. I’m very excited about the move and the club have a good, young side who I’ve been keeping an eye on this year. I can’t wait to get over to Hull and pull on the red and white jersey next season!”

The Auckland-born prop started his career at New Zealand Warriors, and has gone on to make 138 appearances in the NRL.

He will join up with Rovers in November, subject to the necessary visa and work permit paperwork being completed.
