Three of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats’ winter signings Glenn Morrison, Daryl Millard and Shane Tronc will make their debuts in the club’s red, white and blue on Sunday.

They are included in the starting line-up for the club’s pre-season fixture with Wigan Warriors at the Hearwell Stadium (Kick off 2.00pm).

Morrison joined the Wildcats from Bradford Bulls while Millard was signed from Canterbury Bulldogs and Shane Tronc from North Queensland Cowboys both in Australia’s National Rugby League competition.

Two of the Wildcats’ other signings since the end of last season Terry Newton from Bradford Bulls and Paul King from Hull FC are also in the Wildcat squad, but they will start the match on the bench.

Newton and King played in the Cravendale Challenge game against Leeds Rhinos on Boxing Day and Newton has recovered from a minor calf muscle injury in time to be included in the squad against his home-town club.

The Wildcats have named eight interchange players for the game and Head Coach John Kear has opted to include scrum half Danny Brough and prop Richard Moore in that number.

Kear said: “Wigan have already indicated that they will be sending a strong squad to the Hearwell Stadium and we shall be matching them in strength terms.

“After Sunday we will have had games against Leeds Rhinos and Wigan Warriors who are both expected to be among the stronger teams in the Engage Super League this year and this will give us a good idea about where we stand in our preparation programme.

“It will also be another opportunity for one or two of our younger players to experience the intensity of a Super League-style fixture.”

The Wildcat squad is: Aaron Murphy; Dale Morton; Sean Gleeson, Daryl Millard, Luke George; Ben Jeffries, Sam Obst; Shane Tronc, Tevita Leo-Latu, Michael Korkidas, Dale Ferguson, Kevin Henderson, Glenn Morrison. Interchange: Danny Brough, Richard Moore, Terry Newton, Paul King, James Davey, Matthew Wildie, Russell Spiers, Kyle Trout.
