Trio back in contention for Wigan ahead of Castleford clash

Josh McAllister

Wigan boss Adrian Lam has confirmed that George Burgess, Tommy Leuluai and Ben Flower will come back into contention ahead of their clash against Castleford.

Half-back Leuluai left the field with injury during Wigan’s clash with Wakefield, while prop Flower returns for his first game since their clash against Hull KR in March.

Lam said: “We have no new injury concerns this week.

“(George) Burgess, Tommy Leuluai and Ben Flower will come back into contention.”

Lam also confirmed that skipper Sean O’Loughlin and Oliver Gildart are just a few weeks away from fitness, while prop Tony Clubb could be set for a lengthy period on the sidelines.

Lam added: “Sean O’Loughlin is probably two weeks away.

“Oliver Gildart is potentially one more week away. Oliver Partington is available next round after his ban is complete.

“Tony Clubb, that looks like it may not be good news and could be more long term, just getting clarification on that.”
