Toulouse take young Tongan on trial

Toulouse Olympique have revealed that Kalausa Leha is on trial with the club for three weeks, after he left rugby union side Espoir d’Aurillac.

The 22-year-old forward was born in Auckland, New Zealand, to Tongan parents, and grew up in Australia, where he learned his rugby league with the Wentworthville Magpies.

From the age of 12, he was with the Parramatta Eels, before joining Cronulla Sharks when he was 19, where he played Holden Cup.

Wanting a new challenge, he travelled to France to play union last summer, but is now ready to give league another shot.

He has three weeks to impress TO coach Sylvain Houles and the rest of the club’s playing staff.
