Toulouse prepare with Alibert for British referees

Toulouse Olympique have stepped up their preparations for life in League 1 with a special meeting with referees Joe Cobb and Thierry Alibert.

The French club felt that they needed briefing on how their forthcoming clashes in the UK league pyramid would be refereed.

Cobb was part of the match officials team for the recent game in Perpignan between Catalans Dragons and Hull FC.

Alibert is the only Frenchman to have refereed in Super League, and is the current chief of French match officials.

Toulouse were able to benefit from Cobb’s insights into the specifics of British refereeing, especially in regard to the ruck, the play-the-ball and the obstruction rule.
