Toulouse lure Chris Hankinson from Wigan

Toulouse have confirmed the signing of Chris Hankinson from Wigan on a two-year deal.

Hankinson, alongside team-mate Mitch Clark, was recently released by the Warriors.

After joining Wigan midway through 2018, the centre went on to make 23 appearances for the club, scoring four tries and converting 18 goals.

He spent the 2021 season on a season long-loan with London Broncos.

Hankinson, 27, made his first-team debut for Leigh in 2014. He has since appeared for Barrow and Swinton.

“I’m very happy with this transfer,” he said.

“We’ve been in contact for a long time, and now it’s done, it’s great! I can guarantee that I will give my all on the pitch for this club.”

Club president, Bernard Sarrazain, added: “I am very satisfied to finalise the arrival of Chris Hankinson at the club. I thank the leaders of the Wigan Warriors for having released him.

“He is a great boy with a lot of qualities, both human and athletic. Having players of his calibre will help us a lot next season.”

Toulouse prepare for Super League

Toulouse have been busy handing out new deals to their squad since earning promotion.

Harrison Hansen, Lloyd White and Tony Gigot are among those who have signed extensions.

James Cunningham and Gadwin Springer are two new faces confirmed to be joining the squad.

Hugo Pezet, 21, has also signed his first professional contract with the club for the 2022 campaign. He made his debut for the club in March 2020 against Batley, scoring a try in a 34-14 victory.
