Toulouse Olympique have confirmed that they held a meeting last week in order to improve rugby league development in the wider of the city.

Presidents of local amateur clubs in the city, along with representatives from the Toulouse Rugby League Association, met at the clubhouse at the Stade Arnaune, for an initial discussion.

The intention is for the local clubs to work hand in hand with Olympique to help raise the sport’s profile and develop more and better players in the region.

The club also plans to work with the Union Sportive de l’Enseignement du Premier degré (USEP), a French schools sport organisation, to ensure that rugby league is played by more schoolchildren.

Other plans are also in place, and the club intends to extend its local partnerships even further in the near future.
