Toulouse aim to bow out in style

Toulouse Olympique star Sebastian Planas has revealed his team-mates’ desire to finish on a high when they bow out of the Co-operative Championship on Saturday.

Olympique will return to the French domestic league for 2012, and Planas wants to go out with a bang against inconsistent Barrow Raiders.

Planas said: “Our desire is to end on a good note. We want to have fun and please the fans to thank them for their support throughout the season.”

Raiders pair Johnny Walker and Liam Finch are doubts for the trip to the south of France.

Coach Dave Clark revealed: “We’re waiting on Johnny to see if he’s fit enough to play. He got an elbow to the throat recently and he’s damaged his voice box. Liam Finch has a sore toe, but other than that everyone else is OK.”

He added: “It’s important for the players to look to finish the season with a good performance, but they’re also probably looking forward to the end of the season.

“It’s Toulouse last home game in the Championship, so they’ll be looking for a win and a bit of a party. But hopefully we can compete and reward our supporters who make the trip out there with a decent performance.”
