Toon looks Magic for Sinfield

Leeds skipper Kevin Sinfield is relishing the chance to play at an iconic venue like St James’ Park this weekend.

The Rhinos play against Wigan, bringing the action on the Saturday to a close with a 7pm kick-off.

Sinfield, who is the only player to score points at every Magic Weekend which has taken place, is enjoying the chance to play at Newcastle United FC’s famous stadium for the first time.

“It’s great to be in Newcastle,” he said, speaking at the launch event this week.

“We’ve all said as players while we’ve been out looking at the pitch about how fantastic it looks.

“So to be here is brilliant. It’s the first time I’ve been here.

“To be able to move around the country and play at different venues has been great.”

Leeds currently top the Super League table, and are four points ahead of their weekend opponents, who sit in third.

Sinfield is keen to get some revenge for losing the last two Magic Weekend encounters with the Warriors.

“Every time we play against Wigan it’s normally a cracker of a game,” he added.

“we’re two very good sides, and we’re really looking foward to it.

“They got the last two results over us at the last two Magics, but hopefully we can be good enough this time.”
