Tony Puletua will face the RFL disciplinary panel after being formally charged of reckless striking with the shoulder.

Puletua was sent off from the field of play in the 73rd minute after making direct contact with the shoulder to Gregory Mounis’ head in St Helens’ 20-15 win in the south of France.

The challenge was similar to Sam Moa’s shoulder charge on Julien Rinaldi, in which Moa made direct contact with Rinaldi’s head with his shoulder. Moa was banned for one match after submitting an early guilty plea.

He has been charged with a Grade B offence, which could see him miss two matches if found guilty.

Leeds Rhinos half-back Danny McGuire has been charged with making dangerous contact with Brett Kearney of Bradford Bulls in the 15thminute of Friday’s match at Headingley Carnegie Stadium, while Ali Lauitiiti of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats has been charged with use of his knees in a tackle on Huddersfield Giants player Leroy Cudjoe in the third minute of Sunday’s fixture.

Both McGuire and Lauitiiti have been handed a Grade B charge, and could also miss up to two matches if found guilty.
