France star Tony Gigot has committed his future to Toulouse ahead of their maiden season in Super League.

The 30-year-old full-back or half-back joined Toulouse midway through last season after impressing for hometown club Avignon in the French Elite 1 Championship.

Tony Gigot, who has won 16 caps for France, has signed a new two-year contract with Super League newcomers Toulouse.

Gigot said: “I am very happy to continue the adventure with Toulouse. I thank the club as well as all the staff for their confidence.”

Toulouse president Bernard Sarrazain said: “To have a player like Tony in our ranks is a privilege.

“His experience and multiple qualities make him a key player in the team. I am absolutely delighted that he is staying with us to play in the Super League.”

Gigot has made more than 200 career appearances for Catalans Dragons, Avignon, London Broncos, Toronto Wolfpack, Wakefield and Toulouse.

He helped Catalans win the Challenge Cup in 2018, beating Warrington Wolves 20-14. His performance in the final ensure that he became the first Frenchman to win the Lance Todd Trophy in the final at Wembley.
