Tony Gigot joins Toulouse

France international Tony Gigot has joined Championship club Toulouse with immediate effect.

The 30-year-old full-back or stand-off, who won the Lance Todd Trophy as man of the match in Catalans Dragons’ historic Challenge Cup final at Wembley in 2018, left the Dragons at the end of 2019 and has since had spells with Toronto and Wakefield before re-joining his old club Avignon in the French Elite Championship.

Gigot will link up with his old Catalans captain Remi Casty at Toulouse, who are strongly fancied to win promotion to Super League this year.

Toulouse president Bernard Sarrazain said: “It is with great joy that I welcome Tony.

“With a player of his calibre, who will come to add to the talents already present in the workforce, we will see the Toulouse Olympique achieve great things this season.”

Gigot said: “I’m very happy to join Toulouse. I’m going to do my best to help the club reach our goal. I only need one thing, it’s to join the team and start playing.”
